The elves are watching!

Last year I started a new family tradition that is so much fun! Quietly in the middle of the night an elf door appeared by my front door. My little kids of course noticed it and asked me what it was? I told them well you know santa's elves are every wear watching to see if you are naughty or nice. My Daughter Madie said you mean thats a door that leads to the north pole. I thought this is good!! I said yes Madie . The Elves are coming and going all the time just watching to see if we are being good boys and girls!!

I love the magic of Christmas.

My question of the day what are some of your family's Christmas traditions? If you have them posted on your blog leave a link I would love to read about them..

I don't have any tried and true traditions yet. I keep trying to think of some to start before we start a family!

Next week we will do one of my favorites1 As soon as Big Daddy gets home, we go out to eat at a sit down restaurant not fast food, you understand. Then we go downtown and look at Christmas lights, then we come back out to our neck of the woods and drive around looking at more!! I LOVE it!!
Love your Elf door and I might just steal that one!!

our main tradition at christmas was to decorate our house the weekend between our birthdays (his Nov. 29, mine Dec. 4) or if one of our birthdays landed on the weekend we would decorate that day.

Well, this year there is no tree, no decorations... no bear.. :(

I'm a real downer. sorry. but I'm glad you are making these memories for your children.... thank goodness you have them and I hope someday I will meet you and your whole family.

That is seriously so cute! I love it! When my little girl's older I'll get the gnome out and tell her it's an elf - so cute!

We have tons of family traditions. One we still keep is doing a family candlelight/tree light dinner sometime before Christmas and tell our new year's resolutions. Another is making and decorating sugar cookies and giving them to the neighbors. And a million more....

We always take a Christmas eve picture in our red jammies (heath and I have santa pants/jammies) and we incorporate them into our decorations every year, so we can see our Christmases through the years.

WE just started a new one. My daughter put her letter to Santa under the tree and he came and picked it up last night.

My favorite this time of year is "Aysha, you want me to call Santa? You know he is on speed dial. You don't? Well them you best do what mamma ask you to do!"

We only get 3 presents each since that is how many the wise men brought Baby Jesus and it helps us focus more on the true meaning of Christmas and really it's mroe economical and we get gifts that totally rock! Also, we have a Hawaiian Christmas dinner like the Macanas's did for the ward party the first year we were at Travis. Those are the only two traditions we really keep up with steadily. :)

We've got Elfie, the elf, who does the same thing...keeping the kids in line during the holidays. Wish I could say it worked perfectly. But then again wish I could say I work perfectly too! I'll be posting about Elfie soon at my blog,
I'll tell you later Betty

TOO stinkin' cute! I would love for you to give us all more info on how you created this. I have been looking at your picture for the last 3 hours trying to figure out how in the world you did this. Even went to Hobby Lobby and drew a complete blank. Is a tutorial in our near future?
