Boxed Social...

Tonight the amazing youth of our ward at church had a Boxed social. Hosted by the 12 and 13 year girls in which I am in charge of. I was very impressed with how well they planed the event. Needless to say it was a huge success. For those of you who may not know what a boxed Social is I will quickly explain. he girls make a dinner for two put it in a decorated box and the boys have to bid on the boxes. We had the young men earn the money by reciting scriptures dressing properly being on time ETC. The fun part was the boys had know clue who the boxes belonged too. All they new was that there was food inside. After the all the boys wee done bidding on the boxes we had the girls go join the boy that brought the box.. It was so fun to see there expressions when they found out who the were paired with.
The boxes The girls made so pretty and fun!!! I think they were very clever in the way they decorated.

The girls eagerly waiting to see who was going to bid on there box.. Look at there eager faces

The boy willing and ready to bid.. Don't they look existed!!!

The Boy and the girl socializing and eating there yummy meal together!!! Aren't they cute....
The boys and girls playing a game so nicely together.. As one adult leader pointed out it looked like they were getting ready to sing I want give the world a Coke.. (Remember that commercial.)

Where is my family?

Today we decided to take the little kids out sledding. Well I was being a little slow getting all my snow gear on so they took it as a sign that I was not going and left wit out me:( I said to my self it should not be hard to find them I will just follow there tracks. So I set off to find them.
When I looked to my left up at the mountains I saw this beautiful sight...The clouds were very low and all you could see was the mountain top peeking over the clouds. It was just breath taking.. So i was off to find my family. I first went too look in the forest. Near my house.

As i entered the forestI prayed there were no Vampires or Werewolf lurking in the clearing by the pond. To my relief There weren't any but my family wasn't there either.
So I kept walking and walking and walking yet I still could not find my family. I thought where in the heck could they be? So with out any luck I went home. I took off all my snow gear and waited for my family to show up. Sure enough 10 minutes later I hear them in the front yard.
Boy did they look like the had a fun time they also looked very tuckered out...

Exspeshaly My newly turned 11 year old Robbie... He looked like he wanted to fall down and take a nap..

My sweet little Ben was happy but cold he came up to me and put his hands in my shirt and started crying my hands hurt mommy will you warm them up on your belly. They were very red and if my belly could talk it would say they were very very cold. from everything the kiddos said about there sledding trip I wished I was there to get some pix of the crashing into the trees and falling of the sled. I guess Ben had so much fun he could not stop laughing. Maybe next time they wont leave me behind..

The second thing I wanted to share was a few new LO I made yesterday. I am so enjoying scraping again... It is so much fun and therapeutic for me.. I had so much fun making the LO with Kadie and Shelly. It is not really my style but I had this paper and thought it would be perfect for this pic.. I had a blast with all the doodling it reminded me of when I use to talk on the phone for hours I would just sit a doodle the whole time there was never an inch of space left on the paper when I was done.

Happy Birthday Robbie!!!

I was so busy Yesterday I did not get a post written to say Happy birthday Robbie.
I can't believe my first son is 11 years old ... How time flys... It so sad that my kids are getting so big... We had a little birthday party with cake and ice cream and presents of course last night just our family.
He got some fun things we got him the Lord of the rings series He has been dying to read them . I think they are a little advanced for his age but his teacher said he's way advanced in reading for some one his age so he will be just fine reading them..

I think the gift that brought him the most joy were these little finger skate boards. I am not sure what they are called but when Robbie opened them Garret said I want some of those and went on and on at how cool they were. I thought why didn't they say any thing about them at Christmas time they are so stinking cheep and have lots of fun ramps and stuff that go along with them. Well know I will know what the Easter bunny will be bringing them..
Next week end he will be haveing a little birthday party with his friends They are going to see a movie not sure witch one yet .

Want to barter?

Since my in laws have been here and it's been harder for me to scrap book I have been making more jewelry as a creative out let. I have been trying out new techniques and having a lot of fun creating new pieces. I Have been branching out to making necklaces, I am currently trying to get the hang of using chains instead of just wire and beads..

I was at the store the other day and this wonderful women was commenting on my jewelry and when I told her I made the pieces I was wearing she said ohh what a fun talent to be able to Barter with. She then explained how her and a group of her friends Barter with each other for things the want or need. For instance Judy makes great bead and Grace makes amazing cards. well Judy isn't great at making Cards and Grace does not have time to make bread so they swap talents. Judy makes bread for grace and Grace makes cards for Judy.

So are you fallowing a long with me so far? So any ways I thought it would be fun to swap talents with some of my friends.

If anyone is interested in Bartering with Me just let me know.. The talent I am putting out there to barter with is my Jewelry making skills I will make you a piece of jewellery in trade for one of your talents.. If you are local I will bring it over too you and if you are long distance I will send it out... Don't any of you respond by saying you don't have any talents Because that would be a big lie.. A talent could be any thing... You could be excellent at buying scrapbook papers or a wonderful quote collection a great card maker A great recipe collector.. Etc...

So who is Game?? Can't wait to see who wants to Barter...
I guess I should have stated that these are my personal pieces of jewelery I put these up as examples of my work just tell me
What style you like and what color you would like it in and I will do my best to cater to you needs. Also if you send me a pic of something you want I can try to recreate it...

Riding the Rails..

Last week end Dale and I too a Railroad trip to Fairbanks it was a 12 hour train ride. It was so Beautiful and nice to be alone with Dale. We had been sick the up until the day we left so it was nice to just sit on the train and watch the scenery.

Getting on the train Tickets in hand believe it or not it's almost 9am and the sun is still not up....This is a shot of the train station from the train.Dale and I on the Train watching the scenery go by...You can see the ice chunks in the frozen river.. Some of the chunks were sticking strait up and were so blue.. It was pretty neat. This was in the middle of no Mans land we were surprised to see this women and her dog just happily waving at the people in the Train.Just had to add this pic Because Dale was being such a dork when I tried to get a pic of him...This was neat too look at..This was just a breathtaking view. We were on a bridge with a death drop on either side. The Train just stopped right on the bridge The opened up the top half of the doors so we could take some pix.. It was kinda scary and trilling at the same time.Looking down at the death drop...Dale was trying to get the front of the train . You can barley see it...This is a pic of me in front of the Christmas tree they had up in the hotel we stayed at it was very nice and the food was great...Dale and I at the Airport waiting for our plain to get in it was late and we were kinda getting board. Our plane it finely arrived a half hour late. It was a nice short trip home about 45 mins. We had such a good time it was tons of fun to be just Dale and I...
