Pink Chenille madness.

I just love chenille I think all things baby should be made from it.
Heck I think I need things made from chenille.
I ran  to the fabric store to grab one thing and totally forgot it because I was so happy that the chenille was 50% off.
I quickly came home and mad the first blanket I have ever made.
I was really happy with how it turned out, I also made some matching burp rags.
Now I just need to go and make the hooter hiders and bath time aprons and finish the strawberry short cake trifle.
I guess I better go if I want to make my deadline.

My goal is to make 3 hooter hiders, 3 Bath towel aprons, and what ever else  can get done all by the days end..
Do you think I can get it done?

Super Ben!!

This boy cracks me up. I was leaving to pick his brother up from play practice, when a blur of activity ran past me.
It was Ben Dressed up so nicely in his super spy outfit.
I could not stop laughing because he kept running around me saying silly stuff .
Then his cape came untied and he said mom I love you can you re tie my super puppy cape.
So I did and while I was tying his baby blanket(AKA super puppy cape.) my heart just swelled with love for this sweet boy. He has brought so much love and laughter to our family. I am so glad that he is a part of our family he was the best surprise we could have ever asked for.

Fat Quarter burp rags.

I was very excited today when I found out that my good friend had a baby girl!
I kept telling her if she had a girl I would make her tons of girl goodness.
So I promptly made these burp rags right after I found out the good news.

I thought while I was makeing them that I would make a quick tutorial.

All you need is fat quarters
Chenille
a sewing machine and thread.
first cut the fat quarter in half
Next take the chenille and cut it the same size as the fat-quarter .
now pin right sides together

Then sew all the way around leaving an opening big enough to turn it.

Now turn it it right side out.

Then pin opening

and top stitch all the way around.

Roll up the burp rags tie them in a bow then find a cute baby to give it to.
So super easy.
Flower tutorial tomorrow maybe..LOL

Trifle yumminess..

Now doesn't this just look sinful?
Do you want to know how to make it?
Here we go
Ingredients
Your favorite white, Yellow, or lemon cake premade
2 instant pudding mix
2 (1lb) frozen berries thawed (I used blueberries)
1/3 of a cup of orange juice
1lb of cream cheese room temp
1 small jar of marshmallow fluff
1Teaspoon of vanilla
1teaspoon of lemon juice.

1st make pudding mix according to package let sit while you put the berries in a bowel adding the orange juice.
set a side and make the topping
combine the cream cheese vanilla and lemon juice in a mixer and mix for 3 minutes on medium
Now cube the cake.

Ok here is where the fun begins it's time to assemble.
I first add the berry mix to the bottom of my trifle dish, (if you don't have a trifle dish use a clear glass bowel or what ever you have.)
Then add some cake then the pudding until you have reached the top of the dish.
Now all you have to do is spread the cream cheese mixture.
Then walla you have a beautiful yummy trifle.

Ti's green milk I see!

Leprechauns are self-appointed guardians of ancient treasure (left by the Danes when they marauded through Ireland), burying it in crocks or pots. This may be one reason why leprechauns tend to avoid contact with humans whom they regard as foolish, flighty (and greedy?) creatures. If caught by a mortal, he will promise great wealth if allowed to go free. He carries two leather pouches. In one there is a silver shilling, a magical coin that returns to the purse each time it is paid out. In the other he carries a gold coin which he uses to try and bribe his way out of difficult situations. This coin usually turns to leaves or ashes once the leprechaun has parted with it.However, you must never take your eye off him, for he can vanish in an instant. They also love to play pranks and are full of mischief
This morning this pretty Irish girl woke me up all excited to show me what the Leprechauns did.
Last night we made a Leperchaun traps and left out pretty gold bracelets to see if we could catch one.
Are traps did not work but there was evedance of leprechauns all over the Kitchen and bath room.
The leprechauns spilt flour all over the kitchen table leaving little foot prints behind

They even some how turned the milk in the fridge green and made the toilet water green as well.
The best part is They traded the little gold coins we had left out for rainbow colored candies.

Madeline and Ben could hardly wait to go to school and see what mischief the leprechauns were up to there.

The giant tower..

Ben woke me up Sunday morning all giggles and excitement.
"Mom mom you have to see this."
"Oh ya bring your camera mom!!"
So I slowly went into the living room to see the almost 10 foot tower as Ben called they built.
I was surprised that they got it that high considering the tallest one of them is 5'6.
I quickly snapped a shot right before
came tumbling
down.
The best part about this giant tower is when they made it nobody was fighting.
How would I know you might ask?
Because I wasn't woken up by Madeline screaming Garrett stop it which is my normal every morning wake up call.
Ben waking me up with excitement and knowing that Garrett and Maddie worked together happily was a priceless moment in the Wilderness house.

Pot holder handle tutorial(AKA pot handle condoms)

I love pretty pot holder heck who doesn't?
A while back I made some there easy peasy and take no time at all.
My favorite pot holders are the ones you stick on the handles so your pot so you don't burn your self while cooking.
My Friend Tiffany calls them pot handle condoms.
I guess they kinda look like a condom and hey they are protection for your hands from getting burned.
So do you all want to know how to make them ?
(I hear your heads a nodding)
Supply list!!
scrap fabric
terry cloth old towel or new one.
sewing machine
thread
And time.
First make a pattern.
I simply traced my pot Handel to get the right length and then made it 2 and a half time the with.
Then I placed the pattern on the terry cloth and the scrap fabric and then cut i 2 of each ( 2 terry pieces 2 cloth pieces)

I then pined the bottom of one terry piece to one cloth piece and sewed a 1/4 seam across the bottom and repeated on the second piece.

Next place the cloth pieces right sides together with the terry pieces facing out.
then sew a seam all the way around leaving an opening at the bottom.

Now you need to turn it right side out , you can press it if you want and then you are all done.

Now you have a pot handle holder or pot condom that you can be proud of!
I think making them with matching pot holders is a great gift.

As always let me know if there is any mistakes or if you have any questions?

Beautiful Alaska day and my $165.00 stockings.

As much as I complain about the cold.
I do have to say I live in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Almost every day when I look out my window the mountains and sky take my breath away.

The other day I was looking out the window and saw this beautiful cloud shaped like a heart I was lucky enough to get a shot before the storm clouds chased it away.

So I am sitting on my bed really wanting to sew but knowing I cant because I have to let these darn legs heal.
So I thought I would take a pic of the lovely stockings I have to wear.
Aren't they just lovely?
Can you believe these lovely stockings cost $165.00 yep you read the number right.
I about threw up in my mouth when I saw the invoice.
Thank goodness my insurance company paid every penny of the cost.
They are compression stocking to keep my legs from swelling and getting blood clots.
The only thing is my feet keep swelling because they are too small for my feet.
The lady measured my with of my calf, my ankel. my thighs, but not how wide my feet are.
So I cut the feet out of the dang things.
Now they look even sillier and they still make my feet swell.

Here is a little peek of my legs heeling believe me your seeing the good parts.
I swear every inch from my bum to my ankel is bruised on the back.
I guess a laser and 25 needle pricks will do that to you and that's only in my left leg.
My right leg was a bout 30 injections.
After all this pain my legs better feel better once they are healed.
Ok enough wining.
I think I will go eat some chocolate and dream up something lovely to create.

Eclipse trailer..

I just watched the eclipse trailer

It looks so super good and I can hardly wait until June 30th when it comes out.
I know most every one loves Edward but I don't really yes he is good for Bella but if I had to choose I would choose Jacob!
I have loved him since his character really came out in new moon when I first read the book!
In fact I don't know why but I read New moon before twilight.

Ok this really is a nothing silly post but hay I am in a nothing silly mood.
I have some fun stuff to share with you next week now that I am semi healed the crafting has resumed.

Happy birthday to the best husband in the world

Today is my sweet Ford loving husbands birthday!
I joke that he loves his mistress Sherry more than me(His 1962 Galxey)

Dales favorite Disney character is Goofy.

Probably because he is a big goof ball.
There is never a dull moment when he is around.

He's a great supportive Father who loves his children.
Even when they are complete silly billy's.
Especially when they are sick,
He is my hero when he puts his uniform on and fights for our country's freedom.
And even bigger hero when he loved William for who he was and how he came into the world.
And of course I love him for the way he loves and treats me, any one that knows us know how much he adores and spoils me and accepts me for who I am.
I love you Dale and I am so glad that you are my eternal companion!
Happy Birthday!
My hero my lover and best friend.
