The smile says it all!

I think this is the most satisfying apron I ever made.
When I was sewing the apron Ben caome in and said momma what are you making?
I said an apron. He then looked at me with his sweet smile and said. When are you going to make me a cow boy apron?
I said come look at the fabric. Is that my cowboy apron? I said yep it is! He just smiled and said I love you more than Chocolate milk!!

When I was done I said lets take a picture, he said OK lets go out side by the man cooker.
I was so confused and said the man cooker , Whats that? He said you know what daddy cooks on out side. I swear I dont know where he comes up with these things.

Sewing did the trick!!

Being creative is truly therapy for me. When I am creative the world just seams right some how.

I made this cute number in no time flat .. I love the Chili peppers and the ball fringe.

Next I wiped up this one..I took the picture then realized it really need a pocket and some rick rack. But darned if I did not put it in a package to send out for a swap befor I took another pic.

It's only 11am maybe I can get some more fun stuff sewed up.. Maybe I will do some boy sewing for a certain little boy that lives in this house..

I also want to say thank you to everyone who is praying for Dales safely, it means alot..

I feel like I am drowning.

When 3 girls and a mom are PMSing at the same time it is never a good thing..
Top it of with a sassy ten year old boy you don't even want to know..

I am breaking out my sewing machine maybe that will give me strength to carry on..
Creating stuff with fabric always makes me happy.

Hoppy Easter!!

Happy Easter everyone! In the words of Garret "Man we got spoiled this year for Easter."




I think they all loved what the Easter bunny brought.

After a quick peek at every thing and a quick breakfast of candy, the quickly got dressed.After they got dressed I stated taking the traditional boy, Girl pix..Don't they look so handsome?Here are the girls except Kadie.. Not sure What Shelly said to make Madie mad but I thought it made a cute pic.And here are my cute Easter shoes!! I love them.

On a side note Dale email us to day. He is safe and sound so far and has completed his fist leg of his journey. He will be at his camp later today I believe after a few plane rides and a helicopter ride.

Here is a pic of he sent us today I am guessing from his hotel room.He said its very hot an humid.. A big change from our cold Alaska winter.

I just cant wait to here his voice again hopefully soon..

I am sad:(

Dale left early this morning..It was hard not to cry as I walked out of the airport all by myself.hopefully time will go by quickly.

Recipes Help!!

Remember my goal this year to be an awesome cook and baker?
Well I am not doing too bad, but I am not yet fabulous..
Especially in the banking department.. For some reason I just struggle with liking it.
I have had this struggle for 19 years. I want to like it but for some reason I have a mental block that stops me. Maybe I should go to therapy and figure it all out.

Now here is where you can help me..

Last night I tried my friend Shaina's potato Alfredo.. My kids scarfed it up in no time flat. It was a huge hit!
Here is the recipe.

Potato Alfredo.....Peel and Cut about 8 potatoes into long strips (like steak fries)
...
Combine 1 chopped onion, 2 Tbsp melted butter, 2 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, 2 tsp thyme, 1 tsp garlic, 1 cup Parmesan cheese, and 2 cups of cream in a bowl.
...
Add potatoes to cream mixture and thoroughly coat.
...
Place in a greased baking pan and bake uncovered for 1 hour, at 400 degrees, or until potatoes cooked through.Easy easy and so yummy. I cant wait to see what kind of cooking baking yummy resipes you all send me to try.

Can you boy sew Mom?

While I was busy wiping up prom a prom dress and aprons, Ben was very adamant about baking cookies. I tried to hold him off a long as I could until he pouty faced me and Said Momma don't you have time for me.? So whats a mom to do? I stopped what I was doing and made cookies with Ben. He went to my apron stack and picked out this cute cupcake apron put it on and had me set him on the counter. As he was rolling balls of cookie dough he when he said" Mom can you boy sew" I said boy sew what do you mean? Mom you know sew with boy fabrics like cowboys and cars and stuff. I said yes Ben I can boy sew! Good momma because I need a cowboy apron and a car cape.

I love my Benny boy he is truly one of a kind!!! I love him so dang much.. I cant believe he will be in Kindergarten this fall.. What will I do with out my buddy?

My conversation with Shelly 2 weeks ago.
Me : So are you going to church prom?
Shelly: Yep!
Me: What are you going to wear?
Shelly: Umm Ummm Ummm
Me : Did you forget about a dress? Shelly: Kinda.. Me: do you want to go to the thrift store ?
Shelly: Yep!
Went to all the thrift stores in town found nothing. Saturday Shell said why dont you make me a dress.
I just roll my eyes and said OK.
So Saturday we went to Joanne's she looked threw the fabric book and picked out a pattern she loved.
I looked at it and said this is a sun dress.
Shelly: but I love it!
Me: dont you want something more formal?
Shelly: It is a formal it goes to the floor.
Me: alright lets get fabric..
Shelly: Ohh I like this Yellow plane cotton fabric.
Me: Don't you want a silk or something more formal looking?
Shelly : No why would I want that?
Me: Ok
We went up to get the fabric cut and Shelly sighed O'My Gosh Mom this is it!!
Me what? Shelly: **** look is this not the most beautiful fabric ever?***** Me : Sure do you want this instead.
Shelly: Yes! Do you think my red hat will go with it?
Me:Yes Shell do you want this fabric instead?
Shelly: Yes!!!
Me Alright!!Shelly: with a big smile and a quick peck to the cheek. "You are a good mom"Me : (Smile and sigh) Thank you Shelly..

So this is a peek at the almost made dress with yards and yards of flowing material..

As I am creating it I am realizing that it it is going to be quite stunning once she adds the fun breakfast in tiffany's inspired red hat , red heals and red jewelry. I am excited to see it all put together.

I guess I should go sew the rest of the dress up! I will show you the finished product on Saturday when she is dressed up and ready to go..

Really I am!!

I can never get how to do any thing cool involving the computer.

Well I wanted one of those cool Grab me buttons that are popping up every where.

You know the ones in peoples side bars that are a direct link to your blog with a cool picture with your blog name..

I really thought I was going to have to pay some one to make me one or bribe them with an apron.

Well I thought let me try it first so I googled how to make a blog button and was linked to some good sites that were just to hard for me to understand.

I tried for 2 hours with not much luck.

So I clicked on one more help site and tried what they said and was shocked in mere minutes I accomplished my goal. I was shocked. Heck I am still shocked!!

Now I need all my bloggy friends to go grab my button and let me know if it really works.

Look at all this yumminess.

I went to the fabric store the other day and found some pretty sweet fabrics. I can hardly wait to get to work!! I have so much to create.. Dale leaves next saturday and then I will be creating non stop!.

Fortune cookies !

Yesterday Dale and I went out for Chinese for lunch. You know the drill right when you get the bill they give you fortune cookies . Dale and I always get a big laugh out of what is written on them. Yesterday was no exception. Dales read" You will do well to take a vacation to the west." We both could not stop laughing because I have been referring to his deployment as a vacation joking around, and he will definitely be in the west. My cookie read Pleasure awaits you by the seashore that even gave us a bigger giggle. (Like I am going to be near any sea shore any time soon)

I am not sure I like the fabric button.
I am thinking that maybe I should go with a black texture button or a red textured button Or maybe a flower..

your gonna miss this

AS Dale was makeing dinner tonight i just watched how he and the kids were interacting. He was teaching Kadie to cut onions and tomatoes and I just thought ,"He gonna miss this.". We have so little precious time left with Kadie before she gets married and has her own kids.

Then another of life's sweet moments happened. Ben kept spanking Dale until Dale lifted him up and tickled and kissed him. Exactly what Ben wanted. He then smuggled into Dales neck and said I love you daddy. My heart swealt as I had tears in my eyes as I thought "There gonna miss this".

Then the word to Trace Adkins Song Your gonna miss this started playing in my head and the tears just started rolling down my face. I hate that Dales leaving and that he is gonna miss the little things that go on each day in our house. I am sure going to miss him.
