A Blast from the past ....

When I was a little girl When ever I went to Wyoming to see My Grandma and Grandpa Pete the first thing we would do was go to DQ and my Grandpa would say to the clerk one Jenny special please. I remember the clerk would make a big deal out of taking the white frozen circle and dipping it twice in the pink sauce. I remember my mouth watering and my eyes must have been big with anticipation just waiting to bite in to the yummy cherry vanilla treat. Dilly Bars were at least 3times the size they are now so it would take me 2 days to eat one.... I just love that memory the funny thing is I never lived by a DQ growing up so it was not until I was an adult and married with kids did I know a Dilly Bar was a Dilly Bar and not a Jenny special..
So what was you favirote treat when you were little? Can't wait to here about them...

Thanks for the memory, I loved going to DQ when we went to visit Grandma Pete. I don't think they had a Crystal special though LOL. I probably got a butterscotch dipped cone, I remember her taking me once on the way back from a dental appointment. I do remember you keeping the left over dilly bar in the freezer. I loved going to the A&W when we went there too.

oh, my parents use to bring us all home dilly bars too, when we lived in Arizona.

Funny thing, I had a Grandpa Pete too. Only mine made us chew tree sap and had a mean dog named Nip.

Those dilly bars are yummy!!! My Dad used to take us all out to Bens burger bar(big bens) for Ice cream cones after a hard days work. Their ice cream was so soft and creamy and they were huge. Man oh man is my mouth watering! Yummy!!!

I've never had a Dilly Bar! Wonder if we have them here....I'll have to look.

My fav treat from when I was a kid was Bubble Gum Ice Cream at the Ice Cream Shop. YUM!

I've never seen them in any flavor other than chocolate.

I didn't like DQ that much, but that's because we had a couple local icecream shops where I grew up that had even better ice cream. I usually got the chocolate dipped cone.

Gee, thanks alot, Jen, now I'm craving one! ;)

We didn't have cherry dilly bars in Canada or at least I didn't know of them. I didn't see my first one until after I married Ryan and he ordered one. I have to admit they kind of wig me out and seem to taste like ice-cream covered in red wax!LOL! I'm a DQ ice cream sandwich girl all the way. If it's not DQ then I loved Slurpees with soft ice cream in them. I can't find this anywhere in the states so I load up on them when we go home to visit.
