Lets talk about the movie

I am not going to say i hated it and I am definitely not going to say I loved it!! I thought it was a cheesy teen flick totally nothing like the book and I hated it the whole way they did Edwards character. Lets just say they totally goofed up Jasper's Character.. Put all that aside and it was just OK.. I knew it would be nothing like the book I just did not expect it to leave so much of it out..
The best part of the whole movie was sitting next to my hubby and knowing he loves me enough to come with me to a goofy chick flick..

So those of you who saw the movie What did you all think?

You are right, Jaspers character was weird. I went thinking I was going to hate Edward for his looks, but I decided he did an OK job.

They sure had to skip a ton and that was a little sad.

My overall feeling is that the next movie will be better, now that the makers are going to hear all about what we liked and what we didn't.

Oh I hated the prom dresses. I am surprised Stephanie let them get away with that.

Okay, let's discuss. I actually really liked Edward which surprised me because I didn't think I would. In fact, I thought he was the best actor IN the movie. I thought Bella overacted. I hated the Biology scene. He acted like he was about to puke when in the book he was trying not to kill her. I thought from the baseball scene on was pretty good. I need to see it again and I understand too that it can't be like the book, but it felt like they missed some key details. We'll see how the sequel turns out.

I am SO SORRY to hear that but I am not surprised. I just couldn't see how they could flesh out SO MUCH in a short film. All the reviews are horrible....except the ones that tag it as a 'teenager girl angst flick.'
Jury is out on whether I'll go see it or not.........plus, I sorta wanted her to end up with Jacob. (I know, I know, I know....)

I liked it because I never expect much out of a book turned movie. It's just too hard to fit everything in, like Harry Potter. It's a condensed version! Yeah, some of the acting was corny but overall I left loving it!

I agree with you 100% about Jasper, that was the biggest mistake as far as I was concerned.

However, I did like it for the most part and while I didn't LOVE it, I was actually impressed with how much they did keep from the book. I was expecting a lot more to be cut. It was a little rushed in some places and confusing when they switched up the time line of some events, but I think on the second viewing some of that will be easier to follow.
The next movie will have a bigger budget and I think that will help a lot. I hope so at least.
And yes it was cheesy in some places, but I was expecting that, so it didn't bother me too much.

PS I agree with Elizabeth about the prom dresses too, what a let down, heck the Cullen siblings weren't even at prom.

I agree with Heather about the Biology scene too, Edward was super careful to not show too much of his reaction outwardly in the book and that scene was melodrama to the max.

Books are always better than the movie, haven't you read a single review on my blog? ;) haha but oh well! I'm glad you at least had a nice night out with your hubby out of it. ;)

Honestly, at one point I asked Superman if it would be completely awful of me to start throwing stuff at the screen. The movie was so totally jacked up. I can't believe I ever said or blogged that it was any where close to as good as Quantum of Solace. And now they're going to go on and jack up the sequel. :\

I did like a few pieces of it... cooking at the Cullen's, baseball, Charlie, and Jacob. You should check out my blog for a link to a Yahoo User review that totally pinpoints what stunk about it so bad! :]

And I'm totally with you Jen, the best part of the whole experience was sitting next to my Superman knowing that he picked up the Twilight series for me and was even willing to suffer through, what we both knew, was going to be a mediocre at best, flick, and then we got to laugh at all the Hollywood lunacy together! :)

I haven't seen it yet, but from what I've heard I don't have high hopes!

Exactly! I grew to like Edward and liked Edward and Bella together. Jasper, on the other hand, was hideous. I think I'll enjoy it more the next time, after I've lowered my expectations :)

I loved it! Obviously not as good as the book, but still a good movie!
