Butterflies and polka a dots

I finished my Apron for the swap over at A Feathered nest it's not due until the 9th but I wanted to get it done early. I really like how this apron turned out it is so fun with the bold butterflies and flirty with the black and white polka dots Then I pulled it all together with the pink bling on the pocket.

Last monday the world observed memorial day the day we set aside to remember our loved ones. If you ever lost a child you will know that everyday is Memorial day. William is never far from my thoughts and he is always in my heart. With Williams grave being so far way we were unable to place flower s on his grave we are lucky however to have Dales parents living close by. They so willingly put some flowers on Williams grave. (Thanks MOM and DAD Wilderness)

Happy Birthday Kadie bug!!!

It's Kadies 18th birthday Today. I hope she is haveing fun with all her new friends at the Resort.

My sweet friends Karla, Amy and Jen Philips sent me all these sweet Williams !! I want to thank each of them from the bottom of my heart. They mean so much to me..

Over at AMM Tonya is hosting a coordinating card challenge. I made 5 Fall cards I really like how they turned out.The card on the bottom is from Patti H's June sketch . I love the ketch is simple yet has the wow factor.
Last but not least I made this apron for my friend Shaina for her Birthday. I hope she likes it!!

It's not just any apron It's a designer Apron made from a pair of Ralf Lauren Capris that were given to me . They were a little to big and Grandma looking for my taste but they made the cutest apron.

Snow city Cafe..

Yesterday Dale and I went to one of our favorite little Cafes in Anchorage for breakfast. It's call Snow city Cafe it has a very upbeat and positive feel about. I probably like it because it reminds me of some of the cafes in California that I use to like to hang out at.

There is a lot to choose from on the menu. They had things like Avocado and eggs, Crabby omelet, Reindeer sausage and tons of other stuff..I got the stuffed french toast stuffed with mandren oranges. Verry yummy.Dale had the Breakfast a GO-Go sandwich with eggs ham and cheese on an English muffin. He really liked it. So if you are ever in Anchorage Alaska I sugest you stop by.

I Have been a very busy girl today, I have made 2 aprons and I am almost done with a mini book. It is turning out so cute. I will post pix later.

Saying goodbye to Kadie.

Today We sent Kadie off to her summer job in Ketchikan. We were lucky that the Airlines let us go back past security and let us wait with her at her gate. It was bittersweet watching her get on the plane.

Kadie standing in line waiting to get on the plane for the first time by her self..Kadies plane that took her to Ketchikan. I would like to say she got there safe and sound with out drama but I cant. After we watched Kadie get on the plane Dale and I stayed in town to do some shopping and just as we were getting ready to leave to go home I started to have a panic attack that some thing was wrong. I told Dale that I felt that something was wrong with Kadie he reassured me that nothing was wrong. I sat in the car and said a little prayer I calmed down and we went home. When we got home I sat and eagerly waited for Kadies phone call I new sh should be calling at any moment. An hour after we got home the phone rings I saw on the caller ID that it was the Resort Kadie is working for. I totally expected to hear her voice But it was her boss asking if Kadie had gotten on the plane. I said yes we watched her board. I heard a little bit of panic in her voice and she said do you think she would have gotten off at another stop I said no. I wanted to trow up at this point. Her Boss then said I am going over to the ferry to she if any one has seen her. After about 30 of the worst minutes of my life We found out that she was still at the airport waiting for someone to pick her up. Nobody had told her she needed to get on the Fairy to go over to the resort. She was ok just a little scared that nobody had come for her. She had sat at the airport for about 2 hours after her plane had landed.

See a Mother know when something is wrong with her child. It was about the same time she started to panic that I had a feeling that something was wrong. I am so grateful that nothing was really wrong and that my Kadie is safe and sound.. I am still a little un nerved with the whole thing... I guess I just have to trust in the Lord that she will be ok. I told William that he needed to watch over her as well. It gives me comfort Knowing her little brother can keep her safe.

Apron Angels ...

The day before Mothers day there were some bad tornadoes in MO alot of people lost there homes and every thing they had. Miss Lucy over at The Apron Swap Asked if we would help make aprons for the women of her community that were affected by the tornado. I did not have to think twice I new this is something I wanted to be a part of. Yesterday I was making the apron and Madeline came in to the room and asked me what I was doing I told her about the Women in Lucy's town and what had happened. She said I have some time can I help. My heart just melted I said of course. So I let he sew the apron She did most of it her self. The stitching is not perfect but it is well made lots of extra stitching in just the right places and best of all it was made from the love of a seven year old. As I watch Madie lovingly iron the apron I couldn't help but be the proud of my sweet daughter who was so eager to help another.

I was a busy bee this week end I made 3 aprons and have 3 more that are almost done.

I made this one for my good friend Donna . She never got the apron from her partner from when I had my swap in April it got lost in the mail. So here you go girl I hope you like it!!!

I also made myself an apron. I have never made an apron for me yet. (Shocking I know)When I finished it Dale said this is really nice who did you make it for? I said me He smiled and said with all the time you have spent making others aprons it's about time you made one for your self..so here it is.

Cool pic & Gas prices

The other day when we were at the BX we were standing around waiting for Dale to get out of the bathroom the boys got a little board so they started to pretend they were running away from the bear in the glass cage. Well at least Robbie was running away Garrett was going to shoot the Bear. (I think Garrett was the smart one in this case. ) When I downloaded the picture today I realised I had captured my image in the glass case. I think the pic looks kinda cool

I think the gas prices are getting way out of hand. It cost so much to go any where.

The weekend..

I have had along full week with my parents here and school ending and kadie graduating from high school. I am just ready to break out my scrap stuff and my sewing machine and get some creative stuff made. I would also like to get some jewelry made. We will see.

It's our last weekend with Kadie before she leaves us for the summer. I keep having mini panic attacks about that. I know she will be fine it's just scary that she is going to be so far away.

Well I will post later with some fun pix that I took yesterday. Know I just need to clean up and find my camera. LOL

Yesterday I got a big package in the mail from my Sister friend Berni Jo. Inside was some fun shoes and clothes from her mother (She and I are the same size and she buys really nice stuff.)and the cutest XOXO purse. I was very suprised and happy. She knows me well Its red and Cherie.

Planting Flowers , I need your help, and Comedic family pix

I went out flower shopping today so I could get started on my Garden Now that the weather is nice.

So here is where I need your Help I thought I had bought some sweet William seeds a few years ago but when I looked for them today I could not find them. I thought tats ok I will just find them at the store. Yea right not so easy. I looked at so many stores today even hoping to find The Sweet William plant. No luck. Needless to say I was very sad. I really want some Sweet William Flowers in my Garden.

I am asking a my Friends Family and Blogging buddies to look for some Sweet William seeds for me and pick them up and send them to me. I promise to reward you kindly. For those of you who know me and read my blog often will understand the significance of me wanting these seeds.

We tried tonight to get a good family shot before Kadie leaves the nest. Let me just say it was comedy central. Garrett got mad, Madie thinks it's funny to make funny faces, Shelly has to look pissed of at the world in every pic we take, Ben thought he need to do a little strip tease What can I say We are the all American family Plus 3 or 4..

Kadie is leaving next Monday for her summer Job at the Clover Pass resort in Ketchikan Alaska. It will be her fist time being away from us . I am sad happy scared and excited for her. She wanted to get some pix of her siblings before she leaves. so I tried to get them all together for a few good shots. My dad got a good video of Dale and I directing the children what to do and how to stand. Too bad it's too many mega bites and it will take forever to load cuz its very funny...

I swear my kids cant just be normal when we are taking pix. I would love to at least once get a normal pic with all my kids smiling.

I am going to miss my Kadie bug...

I cant believe in just a week Kadie will be leaving our home and going at into the world all alone and with out us.. How time flies..

Tomato plants ..

Donna do you remember the year you got hundreds of tomatoes from just one plant. My kids they thought you were the sweetest lady in the world. You would always give them tomatoes. They were the best tomatoes ever. Thats when I new I loved you because of how kind and nice you were to my kids.

OK now to my point. My Daddy thought I needed a tomato plat he has been looking for one all week. We went to the Friday fling that is held every Friday in down town Palmer. I was talking to a good friend and when I went to find my dad he was buying a Tomato plant from Ganny Oberg.. They were talking and having a good old time when she realised I was the Daughter he was talking about she wasted no time telling him that I was the most insane person she has ever met. The reason why I am insane to Granny Obreg is because I am always wearing high heals. After she told my Dad I was insane she said let me see your feet "Yep just what I thought you are in those dang high heels.) I love you Granny Oberg.

So I am on a mission to find fabric with high heels on it so i can make Granny an apron. I know she will get the biggest kick out of it. Even thoe she gives me a bad time I know she loves me..

TGIF

Can you believe it's already the weekend.. The week just flew by for me. I cant believe my Kids only have 2 days of school left. Whooo!!! I love summertime and having my Kid's home so we can play and have fun together.

So this weekend should be fun for us my DH and boys are going camping Friday night. Me and my parents and my kids that will be home will watch a move and eat junk food.
Then on Saturday we will go explore our Alaskan surroundings. Hopefully I can get some good pix.

So do you all plan on doing anything fun this weekend?

New changes

Apron fun!!!

I am in 4 apron swaps right Now 2 being due June 1st one 0n June 9th and the last being due June 15th. I have gotten 2 of the aprons done and ready to ship. I will start on the others this week end. I am really excited to make the one that is due on the 9th because of the sweet gal I get to do it for she is amazing. I know she is going to love what I am doing.

This apron is for the sassy apron swap The theme was summer. I loved the fabric such a cute summer theme.This apron is for the 1st apronista swap The theme was Rick Rack Is a lot like the apron I made my MIL except I used wider Bias tape . I put Rick Rack on the bottom and on the pocket.

I bought this fabric for the Summer swap at the Feathered nest. I need to get some hot pink Bias Tape and some fun Trim. I am going to use a new pattern that is fun and sexy. I can hardly wait to get started.

Now I just need to run to the Fabric store and get some fun Red white and blue fabric for the swap I am doing for the flirty apron swap.
