It's like a Halloween Horror flick out side.

The wind is Beyond howling , the trees are thumping on the side of the house it is dark and rainy out it has the feeling of ghouls lurking around every corner. The strange part is it's 8am.. The dark season is upon us already. It came so fast this year..

On a side note don't ever spell the word flick wrong then spell check it. It might shock you. All I did was switch kc around. Oh my goodness the words spell check thought I was trying to spell.

Ok back to my post..
I have always loved Halloween poems. When I was in elementary school I would read them all the time they just made me happy. probley because Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. So I thought I would share some of my Favorites.

~ Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate~
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate,
The first one said,"Oh my, it's getting late.
"The second one said,"But we don't care.
"The third one said,"I see witches in the air.
"The fourth one said,"Let's run, and run, and run.
"The fifth one said,"Get ready for some fun.
"Then whoosh went the wind,and out went the lights,
And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

~~~Halloween~~~
Pixie, kobold, elf, and sprite All are on their rounds to-night,-
In the wan moon's silver ray Thrives their helter-skelter play.
Fond of cellar, barn,or stack, True unto the almanac,
They present to credulous eyes Strange hobgoblin mysteries.
Cabbage-stomps-straws wet with dew- Apple-skins, and chestnuts too,
And a mirror for some lass, Show what wonders come to pass.
Doors they move, and gates they hide, Mischiefs that on moon-beams ride Are their deeds,
and, by their spells, Love records its oracles.
Don't we all, of long ago, By the ruddy fireplace glow,In the kitchen and the hall,
queer, coofllke pranks recall?
Eery shadows were they then- But to-night they come again;
Were we once more but sixteen, Precious would be Halloween
I loved both of these poems as a kid and still love them now.
My question of the day? What is your favorite Halloween poem ?
I have never read either of those. I really loved the 5 little pumpkins though. I think for now it would have to be my favorite. Miss you.
I forgot about the first one! But I never heard the second one.
One that sticks in my mind is like the 12 days of christmas but it's 12 days of halloween...
All my preschoolers would recite that every Halloween. I love that poem, wouldn't be October without it.
