Have I told you yet.

I truly have the best husband in the world!

He has so much faith in my talents much more than I do.

We were talking last night and asked me what I need to help me get my store going.

I said a stalk pile of fabric, purse handles, magnetic snaps and interfacing ETC.

Oh yeah and a new sewing machine and a serger would be nice.

Well he suprised me and said OK we will go shopping for these things tomorrow.

True to his word I got this new sewing machine..

And this new serger..




I can hardly wait to take them out of the box and play with them..

I have tons of sewing that I have to get done this week so I can open my store. My grand opening will be March 10th So circle the date. I will also have a give away on March 10th I will be giving away 1 apron and one purse.

I wish time could take a break Just for a while.

I have been having a hard time lately with my children getting older. I feel like life is rushing by us with no time to stop and smell the roses. Last night it was really strange to be home just with Ben wile the rest of my children were at various activities at church. It is just hard for me to wrap my head around them being so old now.

I look at this picture and feels like a life time ago that they were all so young and sweet. They all loved me they all needed me and they all would let me dress them all so cute still. This picture was taken about 6 years ago. No Ben and no William yet.

I then look at this picture taken only 3 years go and 3 years after the first picture, I look it and think it will never be like this again.

I will never have all 8 of my children together on earth. I also look at with fond memories of how happy we were that Christmas. It was truly a special time in our lives. Even thoe William had to go home to our Heavenly Father I am glad we had him and the time we got to spend with him on earth. I love and miss him terribly every day I miss being the family in this picture.

Here we are now It's crazy to see the girls all as tall or taller than me. They all have there own way they dress and do there own things for the most part. Kadie still lives with us half the year but we hardly see her. I just cant believe how much things can change in just 6 years. It makes think whats going to happen in the next 6 years.

I am growing up mom.

Madeline came to me very excited Sunday and said mom look at my face. I said Madie your face is beautiful. She said I know thats not what I am talking about.She again said look at my face with a sheepish grin.I was still not sure what I was looking at or for.Madie then shouted out do you see it mom?Do I see what Madie?The red mark on my face.Oh you mean the zit.She almost swooned with joy when she heard me say the word zit.She squealed with delight it is a zit.I am so excited this means I am growing up mom.I just sighed and said yes Madie you are growing up.She then said in a little whisper next I will get boobs and then I will be a woman.I almost peed my pants trying to hold in the laughter. She just cracks me up.She really wants to be older.I think it is hard for her to be the youngest girl with 3 older sisters.She wants to be just like them except cooler and nicer to Mom according to her.We will see I bet when she is 13 she will be embarrassed by me too .I secretly hope not.

Happy Birthday baby girl!

My sweet Madeline I rember when I found out I was pregnant I was so very excited!

I just new you would be a girl and very special to me.

Then when I was 18 week pregnant The Doctor told me you were a boy I was confused and puzzled because i thought for sure that I was having a girl . I could feel your presence so strongly around me. We were told many time during my pregnancy that you were a boy and once a doctor said well maybe your having a girl.

Now to how you were named.. I really wanted you to be named after my Grandma Peterson.

I just new that was your name.

Your Dad really thought Madeline was to old fashion and would say it doesnt matter we are having a boy anyways. I then trapped him and said ok then if by chance it is a girl her name will be Madeline. He agreed and said but I will call her Madeline the way the french say it but it doesnt matter anyways because we are having a boy. I just smiled and said we will see.

The day you were born was very exciting I was so ready to give birth. You came fast and furious. When your dad said I guess you are right Jen its a girl! I just cried. I rember the doctor placing you in my arms you looked right at me as if you had always known me.You were just so perfect and sweet you look just like a little porcelain doll. I always loved dressing you up in filly little dresses and designer clothes you wear just so cute.

Here you are in your preschool- school picture. you loved preschool. Ok love may be a strong word. You did have a lot of fun!

Now today you are 8 years old my how time flies.. Happy birthday and I love you Madeline.

Lot's of Vitamin D coming our way!

Today when I was listing to the radio at 6am The DJ said WE have lots and lots of vitamin D in the forecast this week. I was so excited!! I was ready to jump for joy!

Just in case you are wondering Vitamin D is code word For The SUN!!! A lot of Alaskans lack Vitamin D in the winter and because of the lack of Vitamin D it makes us sluggish and grumpy.

Now we are gaining sunlight and it it is fabulous!!!

Yesterday The boys were reading a comic book and lying on the floor so that the sun was warming there skin.(They actually looked like cats basking in the sunlight) It was kinda funny because at one point the were auguring about each other stilling too much sunlight.

I also love the fact that I can now take pictures in all the glories sunlight with out having to use a flash!! That means my sewing pix will look so much better.

I also love all the new spring colors that are hitting the store they are just so cherie and bright!

I made this apron out of dish towels that I found at Target! I just love the bright fun colors in it!

Well I am off to do more sewing!

This is what I am wearing to the Oscars..

Well that is if I was going to the Oscars.
I love the watching the pre shows before the Oscars to see what every one is wearing.
I have loved doing this since I was a little girl.
I remember fantasizing about being one a famous movie stars dressed in one of those glamours dresses.

So lets dish would you like to go to the Oscars and what would you wear if you went?

I am still not sure what twittering is.
But I guess all the Stars are doing it and evidently at one time I singed up for it.
Every once in a while I will get somebody who is fallowing me on twitter.
Well I finally checked it out and I am still not sure what its all about.
anyone care to teach me the ropes of twittering?

Madie, Robbie, Ben, Garret and I were sitting around the dining room table last night when Madeline said "why could we only keep William for 2 weeks?"

I answered because that was the amount of time he needed to be on earth.

Madeline said: well I dont like that answer. Robbie said: Madie we don't have to like the answer thats just the way it is. Garrett said: well at least we had him for 2 weeks. Madeline said: ya guess that should make us happy, but it just makes me sad. Madie then said: I wonder what he would look like? Would he still be a baby?Robbie answered: no Madie he would be 3.Ben said: 3 years old I am 4 years old Williams just a baby he cant be 3 years old.Garrett said: I wonder if his eyes would have turned green like mine when I turned 3.I just sat there and listened to to there sweet conversation about there little bother. It was interesting how healthy it all was. So many times when a death of a loved one comes up people try to change the subject.I have always wondered why?Is they they think they are helping ?Or is it because they them selves aren't ok with death?I just don't know I am just glad that my children feel comfortable expressing how they miss there little brother.I too wonder what William would look like as a 3 year old . I have often wondered as well would he still have blue eyes or would they be green like Garrett's.I also wonder if what color his hair would be. What kind of personality he would have and the list goes on.

Opinions please.

I was at the Target the other day and I saw a girl with the cutest purse. I asked her if I could look at it for a moment she kinda looked at me like I was a purse snatcher or something. I then explained that I liked the design and I wanted to look at it to see if I could recreate it. She was totally willing then. So here is what I came up with . I like it well enough I just think it needs some tweaking here and there. I definitely need to make the straps shorter and the bag a little bit wider so that I can have it more pleated.

I do have to say i love the shape I think it is fun and hip looking. I also like the way it hangs and the size of it . It's not too big and it's not too small.

OK what do you all think. Please tell me I love feed back because it helps me to know what people are looking for.

Sewing flub..

I was so happy when I finished this purse I took it out to take pictures and when I opened it up to photograph the in side I realized i forgot to add a pocket OK not so bad but then I realized there was no snap ether. Ugh. You know what that means I have to take it apart and add them . I just hate ripping every thing out and starting over again. Well I guess I go and fix this purse and then start on a new exciting pattern I designed yesterday.I just hope it looks good. I am a little nerves. Wish me luck!

Desperate house wife ?

Here it is my new apron design! I truly love it there is no other word.


The story behind the design .
I was as you guessed at Target and i saw this sweet dish towel set on sale and thought OK this could make 2 cute half aprons so i picked up 2 sets and did not give it another thought.

When i got home later that night I started playing around with the dish towels and thought Hmm could I make a full apron. I then placed the 2 dish towels on me like you would an apron and then Boom the idea hit me.

I got very giddy inside and very excited as my brain stated crating. I new this design would be great if I could just get it out of my head.

So this morning I took my scissors and started cutting I was just a little nervous but once I made the first cut I new it would all work out 15 mins later my apron was born. It was even better that I imagined.
I quickly tried it on and squealed with delight! I felt so spunky and put together and just darn cute in this apron just thrown over my sweats. I giggled again knowing that women every were would feel the same as they put this little apron on.

So what do you all think?

I have lots to do !!

I had planed on getting lots of sewing done today but my plans were changed. I was blessed to be able to help in makeing a quilt for a sweet YW in our ward who just found out she has cancer. It was a lot of fun and well worth the time. I also had parent teachers conferences and a surprise trip to DQ to celebrate Madies good grades.I then went to Joanns and got some more yummies for purses now I just have to get to work.
As soon as i get off the computer I am going to cut out and finish 2 aprons including my new design. I cant wait to share it tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a good president day. I know we did.

So I have another apron design in the makeing inspired by this dish towel set.

I was just looking at it and boom the idea was formed. It will be a modern and sleek sassy apron unlike any I have made before. I am so excited to whip it up tomorrow!
