Upcycled apron tutorials

I made this apron to day out of a skirt I was going to toss because of a busted zipper.
It was super easy and took no time at all.

Things you need.
an old skirt
about a half of yard of fabric
scissors, rotary cutter
Sewing machine and thread

First step cut the skirt in half.

next press the raw edge you just cut the sew a 1/4 seam on both sides.
Now make a pocket any shape you want I did mine square cutting a piece of fabric10X4 folded it in half right

sides together then sewed it all the way around leaving an opening to turn it.
I then put a premade ruffle on the top over the opening then sewed it shut.

I the place the pocket on the apron how ever I wanted then sewed it on.

Next I made ties by cutting 2 strips 28x8 (you can make your ties how ever long or wide you want them or even use ribbon)

Next I folded the ties right sides together then sewed it all the way around leaving an opening at the bottom

Atere I turned it I ironed it then top stiched all the way around the ties.

Then I sewed them on to the side of the top of the apron

Then your done.

Now put it on model on your front porch so all your neighbors think you are insane.

I was out at a thrift store looking for a good deal when I came across this pretty pink skirt. It was a pretty skirt, not my size but it looked so nice. Then I remembered your tutorial on the skirt apron. Now my sway partner is getting a beautiful Upcycled apron. I hope she likes it!
