Benny turned 4

I cant believe my tinny little 5lb preemie is now 4!! It's so sad and happy all rolled in to one.

Ben had a super fun birthday yesterday. I made him a cake that he requested. He wanted a red white and blue star cake. I was thinking more of a yellow sheriff's star. But he was the birthday boy so I did what he said. I haven't decorated a cake in years I for got how satisfying it could be.

After 18 years I relented and let Ben have a toy gun I had said when I first had kids that I would never let them play with toy guns. This rule was good and fine until we let the big boys have BB rifles. Then I thought well if you teach them not to point them at other people and teach them the safety rules and responsibilities of having a toy gun then a real gun won't be that fascinating to them. Plus they will know how to treat a real gun. You will often here Ben say we don't shoot people in real life of pretend we only shoot targets or animals only if we are going to eat them or if they are trying to eat us. So yes the boy pretends that he is being chased by wild animals so he can pretend shoot them.

Plus don't little boys look so cute all dressed up like cowboys.. 6 shooters and all.

Great Mail day!!

Yesterday My son brought in the mail and there was a box from a million Memories and inside was something so wonderful I wanted to cry..

The new vintage moon papers from pink Pasilee. Well you might say so whats the big deal .. Well let me tell you !!

You cant buy them in stores yet. Yes thats right I am very special I am one of the few that have these papers in my hot little hands... They were just released at CHA last week. Thats how I won them A million memories was holding a CHA crop party and I was lucky enough to win.

Michelle as sweet as she is even true in some of the new American craft Vinyl thickers. I am so in love with them they Rock big time. I even made a LO with them last night.

The first Lo is of my mom and Dad It was a bitter sweet pic. They were on there way back home from there visit in may. The Second LO is of Kadie and Madie I love that they are 11 years apart yet they are still friends..

Well I guess this was a big enough break from decorating Ben's Cake I guess I better finish It's his birthday today he just wanted me to let everyone know and he is 4 now he's a big boy. I will post pix later.

Watermelon Yum!!

I just love watermelon in the summer it is so sticky yummy sweet. I like it cold on a hot day . When we lived in California it was a staple in the summer time. We could buy it for super cheap. We then would cut it all up and put it in the fridge and snack on it all week long. I miss that so much. This has been a super cool summer this year. I don't think we have ever rarely reached the 70's we are rarely in the high 50's it just dose not seam right. Ok I am not going to wallow in the negative. there is lots of positives like no sunburns and I don't ever have to worry about being too hot. LOL

The reason I am dwelling about summer and watermelon is because yesterday I made the cutest Watermelon apron for a summer swap that I am in. I really like how it turned out with it's sunny Yellow accents. I almost was tempted to keep it for me. Yet today I will be mailing it out to it's new home in Kansas.

So the rest of the real world is as hot as it can be right now so what are you all enjoying as a summer treat to cool you all off?

Robin by the looks of these animal prints I would have to say Moose .. Yep I am sure these are Moose prints we have here.

Sunday morning we here Garret say you all better come in here I need to show you all something. We went in to the living room and looked out the window to see what he was looking at and there they were Moose prints all over the yard.

We have had moose in the yard before put always on the edge of the yard close to the forest.

But never this close they were in the Garden Shelly had planted. Well the Garden is right next to the family room window. You can even see there nose prints on the window. Kinda creepy to think they were just looking in to see whats going on . The then How I don't know went under our front porch and past the garage moved the Trash cans and then went around back. As they were walking around in the back yard the knocked the dryer vent off the back of the house.

I guess just some of the perks of living in Alaska you have to share your life with the wild life.

Kids drawings

I love it when people post there little kids drawings. It always makes me smile the way kids draw. There vision is so different from mine. Every single one of my kids are gifted artiest I am not just saying this because they are my children I am saying this because it is the truth. I on the other hand could not draw to save my life. I truly envy people who can draw what they see in there head. i really wish I could do that.

My DD Shelly is exceptional when it comes to this from the time she could pick up a pencil no scrap of paper was safe. For her you can tell art calms her soul. I love looking at her sketches and paintings. They tell such an amazing story. I have been begging her for a while to let me share some of her art on my blog and this morning I guess she had her guard down when I asked if I could share her latest creation. She hovered over me while I scanned her latest creation from her sketch book makeing sure this was the only one I shared. (Thanks for letting me share your talents Shell)It is so creative and fun. I named it the Tree Nymph. I am hoping later on she will let me share her Mermaid drawings they are truly magical.

Rain Rain go away Little Jenny wants to play..

My daddy use to sing me that little song when I was a little girl when it rained all the time.

What a depressing day it has been raining since I don't know when probably weeks. I have been doing pretty good in spite of all the rain. Yet today I was sadden when a Gentleman said those are quite the Alaskan shoes you have on. I looked down too see witch ones I was wearing. My cute leopard print ones Dale bought me for Christmas. I then almost cried at his next words. With your toes exposed they are going to freeze come winter and it's coming quick we got a light dusting on the mountains last night. Noooo I wanted to scream not Termination dust. Here in Alaska they call the light snow on the mountains during the summer time Termination dust meaning Summer is over. I wanted to cry... I was barley keeping it together when the firer weed started blooming a couple of weeks ago. Firer weed is a flower that grows here and the myth is when the tops of the fire weed blooms Summer is over. since I have been here it's been true the moment those suckers are done blooming summer is all over. I am so bummed...

Ok so to make my self happy I did a little scrapping. I made these 2 LO today and I will probably make a few more and maybe even finish up the blasted purse I am working on.

A Purrrrfect Apron !!!!

I am in a Halloween swap and the sweet lady that is my partner loves cats . I was very excited when I found this out because I had the purrfect fabric for her apron.

You cant tell very well but there is cats in between the pumpkins. It's very cute in person. I made it revisable. So she could wear it on either side. I think it would be fun if she wore it while passing candy out to her Trick or treaters

I mailed it out today and now I just have to make 2 more aprons that are due next month and then 2 more that will be due in September and who knows how many more I will join before then.

Hopefully tomorrow I will finish up the purse that I am making tomorrow , it is so stinkin cute and I cant wait to share it.!!!

I am back !!!

I hope I stay back!! Yesterday I felt like my old self again!! I accomplished so much!! I was able to deep clean the house cut out 2 aprons one purse and create 4 scrapbook pages!! It felt so good to be normal again. I even went to Walmart and got some errands done..

I told you all about an apron I made 2 weeks ago along with the cute tote bag. I did not show the apron because I wanted to surprise my partner . Well what she did not know was that she was also my partner for the tote swap as well !! Here is the apron!!! The theme was Cowboy . I could not find any cute cow boy fabric so this is what I came up with!!

I also wanted to leave you all with the fun Lo I made yesterday!!

I love this pic of Ben and I it always makes me happy. I made this Lo with pink paisley. I love this paper line and cant wait for the new papers to be realised.This is a LO of my girls!! I used Card board as my back ground . I think it made it fun and funky.

I love how this Lo turned out The pix where so great that I did not want to embellish to much so just did some sewing around the edge and then I took my sewing machine and sewed around the edge with out any thread it made these fun puncture marks .. I made it for the OLW challenge the prompt was if

This was super easy . I just took one of Jenni Bowlins Bingo cards and embellished it a bit.

Hopefully I can get a lot done today as well. I need to sew up the aprons and get them in the mail I have 3 more swaps after they are mailed out to make aprons for. I just love swapping.

Did a little scrapping!!

I have not scraped in so long .. I have been so busy being a mom and sewing that I have neglected my love of scrapping. So I pulled out my Jolie Chocolate papers by SEI and had a little fun yesterday after church... I only had an hour to my self so I only got 3 LO done, I probably could have squeezed one more in if Ben hadn't had a melt down. The true Joys of being a mom sacrificing our joys for the joy of comforting our little ones. Maybe I will scrap a little to day. I have to see if I can fit it in with my being a mom and sewing today...

This LO is of Ben and Madie. Every time i take a pic of anyone Madie has to jump in the pic..I just love this paper line it is just so fun and pretty. I added this fun pearled J to go along with it!!This LO looks so much better in real life. The paper is just amazing It is pearled and has fun glitter all over it!!!. I was having issues with the camera and so the pic is not so great and washes the brightness of the color

Well I better get to work on some of my sewing fun that I plan to make today . I can't wait to share when I am done!!!!!

Lifes to short for sensible shoes

Thats my new motto!!!

My dear friend Kristy told me she found the perfect gift for me . When she gave it to me yesterday I could have agreed with her more . This what it is Too bad they aren't life size.. LOL
I love it !! And for those of you who don't know me well I always where high heels even in the winter.. My best boots are 5 inch black stilettos. Now when pepole tease me I will just say Lifes to short for sensible shoes.

Time for a change.

My children told me that I have been just a little bit crabby lately. I rightfully could blame it on our awful weather or the fact that I have been getting up early and going to bed too late. But I won't I don't know why but I have been super negative lately about every thing witch is so unlike me. I am normally very a positive person yet I keep finding the bad in every thing. Well Its got to stop and it's going to stop right Now. I am no longer going to be a big old ugly crab...

To begin my positive journey again I want to thank all my faithful blog readers and let them know how much it means to me that you read my blog and leave such sweet comments. I really do love hearing what you all have to say .

Anyone that knows Ben knows he comes up with the cutest and darn right funny things to say. Well today he had me in stitches. I was in the kitchen starting diner and he just randomly says I don't want to be the kid anymore today. I said then if you want you can be the mom. He gives off on of his cute giggles and Say's No thank you I don't want to be the mom. (Thinking it's because moms are girls no he had one better) Because they have to smile and listen to all the whiny kids. I think I will be the Dad they get to leave and play all day long and then come home and tickle everyone and give them ice cream. Yep thats how it works at our house anyways. Mom listens to the kids whine with and smile on her face no less and Dad gets to play the Hero saving the day with tickles and ice cream. I love my little Ben....

I just have to leave you all with this cute thing Ben said when my parents where here . I Think this is one of my favorite things he has ever said. Mom if I eat all my Ice cream float do you think I can have some of these carrots sticks.

Yummy sweets and cute owl tote

Don't you just love friends that just know when you need a pick me up. My sweet friend Rebbecca is very good at that. She is very thoughtful in every thing she does and has a heart of gold. She had done this twice know I will be having a rotten day or in last weeks case week and here she will come bringing me Godiva my favorite chocolate. Thank you Rebecca you are truly a wonderful friend. I am setting here enjoying my yummy treat and I am not sharing with anyone.. LOL

Ok here is the owl Bag as cute as can be. I made the pattern up as I went and this is what I came up with. A reversible tote bag With a double pocket on the Brown side and a single pocket on the polka dot side. I am disclosing this now there is a lot of little sewing blunders but if you don't look too hard you will never see them and best of all it was made with a lot of thought and love. So I hope my swap partner likes it. I will be sending it off in the morning full of surprises.

I also finished up 2 aprons and will show them later in the week when my partners get there aprons. I want them to be suprised when they get them..

I am in a funk !!!

I have all these fun sewing projects I need to get done but I just didn't feel like doing them right now!!! Akkke I hate it when I get into this kinda lazy funk!!!! I know once I break out the projects I will enjoy sewing them all up. I love to create and the way it makes me feel when finish them. I have no clue why I am being so lazy. Hopefully I can get a few done tomorrow.
I have 2 aprons and a tote bag that I need to finish. I also joined a new apron swap today and know of a few more that are coming up . so I guess I should quit procrastinating and get my butt in gear. Maybe I should make the Goal of posting a project by tomorrow. Yeah maybe that will get my butt in gear. OK I am done babbling. So by 6pm tomorrow I will show you all one maybe 2 new project.
