How sweet is this...
Before Dale left he recorded himself reading books so that the kids could read with him at night.
Ben loves watching his daddy read to him.
When I put the DVD in he instantly calms down and reverently listens to his Dad.
Ben has the same book that his Dad is reading so he can fallow along.
It is so sweet because he reads right a long and will say good job Daddy as if he was there.
On a side note It's this little monsters Birthday today , But we aren't telling him.
The reason why because Daddy will be home in just a week. Yep thats right a week from today.
So we decided to tell Ben his birthday is when Daddy gets home.
If you are local you have to keep it hush hush that Dale is coming home on thursday because I told them it was Friday
We have a fun surprise in store for them..
Time is flying by so until Dale is home we can hardly wait.

rubb a dubb dubb an apron for the tub
When I was invited to my friends baby shower , I wanted to make her something unique.
I could not get the idea of giving her an apron for a baby gift out of my head.
So I came up with an apron useful for baby.
So I made an apron out of a bath towel.
Yep you heard me right an apron out of a bath towel.
The idea is to make bath time easier for the mama.
When wearing the towel apron it will free your hands and keep you dry.
When baby is finished with the bath you simply
lift baby out of the tub and put her up to your chest and then
take the bottom of the apron up and dry of baby..
I really do love how this turned out.
It was quick and simple and will be oh so fun to give to my friend.
Now to finish the rest of her gift..
Guess what I am in the middle of makeing?

look at this tweet skirt
Iam not so sure about this skirt. It looks pretty good until you get to the waist.
I think I am going to have to take out some of the bulk and put a zipper in before I will be satisfied. so it will be back to the drawing board.
I also have some cute projects I am getting done today I hope to get this pesky purse I have been working on for months but I keep getting interrupted and put it a way and forget about it.
I also have to hem some cute designer jeans i got last November. I hung them up in my closet and forgot about them until the other day when I found them while cleaning.
Well I hope everyone is haveing a fun day and a safe weekend.

Pretty hair flowers..
When Maddie was little I always had big bows or flowers in her hair..
She kinda grew out of it and it made me just plane sad..
today I had bought some big flowers to make headbands for my friends baby girl but when I brought them home I decided they where way to big for a baby.
Madeline saw them and asked if I was going to make barrettes with them .
I looked at her and said would you wear them if I did?
She nodded her head up and down as fast as she could.
With out missing a beat I whipped up 2 of these cute little flowers.
They were so easy and took no time at all.
I thought they would look cute with some of Madies knit hats.
As you can tell from Madies face they weren't so cute with the hat..
I think these flowers were a little to big for these hat.
I will have to make some small ones for Madies hat and my friends little girl.
They also are a big hit with the big girls.
I will make a tutorial and share it next week.
Funeral potatoes
Christmas, potatoes, Sunday dinner potatoes, hash brown casserole pot luck potatoes, and I think thats all I have heard them called. If you are LDS you know exactly what I am talking about, it's a mormon standard at Funerals and potlucks. You might be wondering what my point is, I am getting there I promise.
Last night night I made a this casserole for dinner, my neighbor came over and asked what I was cooking. I told her funeral potatoes she looked at me a little blank I then told her the ingredients and she said oh hash brown casserole. I said yeah, she then asked why the heck did I call it funeral potatoes. I explained that it was something often made at Mormon funerals so it got nicknamed that.
It also reminded me of the first time I had ever heard the term funeral potatoes, belive it or not it was when I had my 7 Baby Ben 5 years a go next Thursday. My friend Kim made it for our family and was very upset when she brought it over. She said Jennifer I messed up. I was a little puzzled and asked how so. She said I made you funeral potatoes for a babys birth. I looked at her confused and then looked at the dish and said oh these aren't funeral potatoes these are Sunday dinner potatoes. She looked at me and laughed and said oh thats better It's wednesday and I am bring you Sunday potatoes on wednesday. I reassured her they were my favorite and it did not matter what day she brought them.
After a good laugh I asked her where on earth did she here the term funeral potatoes. She then said she told our friend Christina at cub scouts what she had made and she called it funeral potatoes.
So after that long intro do you all want the recipe? They are super good and worth the storey I promise.
1 Large bag of frozen shredded hash brown potatoes (not already browned, raw)
2 cans of cream of chicken soup
1 pint of sour cream
1 small bunch of green onions (just the green part cut really fine, I just use scissors!)
1 cup of cheese Cheddar, jack or what ever kind you want.
corn flakes
option I like to add ham or chicken to make it a full meal.
Mix everything together and put in one or casserole dish( I put it in 2 8X10 dishes I think thats the size and freeze one.)
Then add corn flakes , crushed cheese its bread crumbs or what ever you want on top.
Then bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
So I am dying to know have you ever heard of this casserole and if you have what did you call it?

Look what was walking around my front yard!
I just got back from jogging came into the house
got a drink of water then plopped down on the couch to take a breather.
I looked out my window and saw this.
A little moose calf.
he or she must not be very old. I have seen calves befor but never this little.
He started to creep around the neighbors house, and got scared you can see the hair on the
back of his neck raising, the neighbors dogs where probably barking.
Then he got scared and ran away.
My kids all wanted to go out and see it but I looked at them and said don't you ever go near a moose calf
Because if the momma saw you she would stomp you down.
Just another joy of leaving in Alaska.

I feel like a little girl again..
After I finished the 20 min skirt last night I put it on and felt like a little girl.
I love the fullness of the skirt.
My teen aged girls and my 8 year old Madie loved it as well, they all want there own now.
I guess this will have to be a fun mother and daughter project.
It really was an easy skirt to make and an good one for a beginner to make..
So you all might be thinking was this rally a 20 minute skirt?
No it was more like a 45min skirt with the second layer.
In the tutorial that I used she had to type one with a under skirt and one with out.
I haven't tried the one with out yet but author is probably right it will be a 20 minute skirt maybe 15 mins for an experienced sewer.
I am definitely going to be makeing more.
Tomorrow I will make the twirly girl Skirt for big girls.
I have one cut out and ready to sew.
I cant wait to make it .
I will give you my review when I am done.
