New Tutorial

Remember these cute pants I embellished for for Maddie last year. Well I am going to make a tutorial on how to make them!! I should have it up by Wednesday. So wish me luck that my kids and baby M will let me do some sewing today.

My deliciously lazy naughty day.

Yesterday I choose to stay in my Jammies all day. ( I never do that)

Read a dorky a little bit trashy silhouette Romance novel.

And ate four of these yummy naughty truffle bars all by my self.

I guess today it's back to the real world I have to make a cake and decorate the house for Robbie's birthday cant believe my first boy is 12. Yikes!! I will share pix later.

Pictureka and Popcorn

This is a super fun board game to play as a family. We bought this for the kids for Christmas and they love it! The recommended age on the box is 6 an up but Ben at 4 can play this game very easily. It's like a big I spy game but it's cool because the squares with pictures get switched around every once in a while so once you think you have every thing memorised it changes.

While playing board games my family loves there popcorn!! We decided to get an air popper in stead of microwave popcorn . I thought they would rebel and not like the air popped popcorn cuz you know it taste different it dose not have all the fat chemicals that microwave popcorn has. But with a little butter and yummy seasoning my kids and hubby goes crazy over.

Just as a side note When googling pictureka make sure spell it right if you spell it like I did at first you will have some rather naughty sites pop up , At least I think there naughty I did not look I am just assuming by there name and description that there naughty. I know some of you will be tempted to do it just because I said not to so I am saying it again don't do it.

Apron fun!!

So here is my first apron of 2009 too bad it's not mine to keep. I made this cute reversible craft apron for a swap that I am in on vintage hankie for pocket.
Now I think I might have to make one for my self. LOL

Things aren't always what they seam to be.

Madeline was sitting on the couch reading a book when she said Mom look at the dinning room table . I looked and saw a statue of Mary kneeling over baby Jesus. Just as I was thinking where did that come from Madeline said Oh my goodness that so wired. I thought that napkin was Mary standing over the baby Jesus. I was like napkin she said move your head just a bit to the left when I did sure enough I could tell it was just a crumpled napkin. I was kinda bummed when I realized it was just a napkin. It crazy how on minute we see something so beautiful and extraordinary then blinders are put on and what was once extraordinary becomes the ordinary.
I guess we all see things differently at different times in our lives it's up to us is we want to see a beautiful statue of Mary kneeling over baby Jesus or just a crumpled napkin.

My printer broke what a bummer.

Of course now when I get the scrapping bug again I can't. I did not realise how much I relied on my printer to scrap.
I guess it's just digital for me right now, It's not nearly as rewarding .

Madie and Ben's special day.

We decided this year that Dale and I would take 2 kids at a time on a special day just for them to celebrate them and be able to talk and have fun and do something they don't normally get to do with every one else.
We started the day off by going to the stamp show(boring I know) to get the Alaska stamp for my father in law. The hotel we went to was very fancy it had a doorman and every thing.( Madie said she felt like she was Eloise at the Plaza) We got into the lobby and saw the most beautiful gingerbread house display. The doorman was so sweet he turned it on so the kids could see all the movement.



Then what I thought was going to be boring turned out very exciting for madie because she got to meet Sarah Plain (Who new Madie was a big fan of our governor)


When the stamp show was over Ben was so excited he said now it's build a bear time!! We drove 3 blocks over to the mall .


Ok these pix aren't that great There were so many people there and every pix i took with Madie it's blurry cuz she couldn't stand still. Here is Ben after he picked out his bear.Ben stuffing his bear. Its so fun because they get to step on the fluff er petal that inserts the fluff.
When the stuffed animal is good and stuffed they they then have a heart placing ceremony . It's so sweet they have them rub the heart on there head so there bear will be smart then over there heart so they can love you then there muscles so the bear can be strong and they have them do a few other things then they spin tree times and make a wish.Then the bear or bunny maker sews up the stuffy and hands it over to the new owner. The whole thing is very fun to watch. i loved seeing Ben's and Maddie's faces as they watched there stuffy's take there form and come to life. It was like watching a little bet of magic. Here is Madie loveing on her build a bear bunny she named Elie.This ken Ben's chocolate Brown bear in batman Jammie's. Ken Is so stinking cute and now goes every wear with Ben.

Dang I am good!!

I thought $ 290. was a good savings I went to Target last night and spent 175. and saved $712.

These trees and fun tray cost only $6.00 total. I love it love it love it!!

My tree next year is going to be amazeing!! I bought so much bling , sparkles , ribbon , and pretty glass to put on my tree. I wish it was Christmas tomorrow. Ok not really but I wish I could put my tree up.

Today Alaska is 50.

Today Alaska celebrated it's 50th year of statehood!!

To commemorator, Alaska issued a new stamp.

My father in law the big stamp enthusiast asked if we would go to the ceremony.

We brought Madie and Ben with us because it was there special day and we were going to Build a Bear(That will be tomorrow's post.)

Anywho as we were setting there waiting somebody said "you know the governor will be here." Madeline said "You mean Sarah Palin." I said "yes" not realizing she even knew who Sarah Palin was. She brightened up and was all the sudden very excited!!

It was funny to hear an 8 year old say I can't wait to go back to school and tell my friends I met Sarah Palin.

Even after she went to Build a Bear she kept saying I can't believe I met Sarah Pailin.

It was so cute.

During the ceremony a women musher came up to us with her new mushing dog. She let Madie pet the dog and also paused so we could get pictures.

Afterward we waited in line for the Governor and photographer of the stamp to sing our stamps and envelopes.

He was kind of a ham he was signing the stamps when someone said she's trying to take a pic. He just looked up and gave me the cheesiest smile ever. We all had a good laugh.
Here is me and Sarah. Ok so I look like a total dork Because I kept saying under my breath take the dang picture already to Dale. Everyone near Dale kept laughing cuz they could tell I did not want my picture taken.

Kisses and hearts Apron swap(over at Aunt pitty Pat's)

If you ever wanted to join an apron swap this is the time my friend Miss M is hosting a fun swap over at her blog Aunt Pitty Pat's It is sure to be lots of fun and in the end you will have a fun new apron and a new friend too boot. I joined and I hope to see some of my bloggy friends join as well.

I am so bummed:(

The heel on my favorite pair of boots broke.
I loved these boots they are sexy, sassy and fun!!
How will I ever replace them.

Bringing in the New Year by bargain shopping.

Dale woke up and said do you want to go shopping. Well you don't have to ask me twice. I took a shower and got dressed in no time flat we were off to target.

We found so many bargains Jammie sets for $2.00 Snow pants and coats for $4.oo shirts for .92cents and many more bargains. I was in total shoppers paradise.

It was kinda funny to watch the cashiers expression. She kept saying I cant believe all these bargains your getting, it kinda makes you not ever want to pay full price for any thing.

When she rang our total up she announced you saved $290. The women next to us said how much did you save I said $290. she said well how much did you spend? I said $156. She then said I cant believe you saved more than you spent.

I felt pretty cool to get so much stuff for hardly nothing.
